Overview
MBA (Master of Business Administration) is a postgraduate degree in management awarded by a university or an institute that has university status. You learn the core of business first and then specialise, for example in finance, marketing, human resources or analytics. Admission is competitive and usually works in two steps: a national or state entrance score, then the institute's own shortlisting with a group discussion or interview and, in some cases, a written task. Work experience helps at some institutes and is required at others.

Frequently asked questions
Which exam should I take for MBA?
It depends on your target institutes. Make a list, note the tests each accepts and plan for one or two. Check each exam's current dates.
Is work experience compulsory?
Not at every institute. Some programmes require it and others value it. Check the individual programme.
What happens after the entrance test?
Many institutes shortlist on the entrance score and then hold a written ability test, a group discussion and a personal interview. In a group discussion, a panel watches how you listen, reason and speak in a small group. In the interview, they ask about your studies, interests, work and goals.
What is the difference between MBA, PGDM and MMS?
An MBA is a degree awarded by a university. A PGDM is a diploma awarded by an autonomous institute. An MMS is a master's degree in management offered by a university, common in Maharashtra. Check the approval and recognition of your chosen programme.
Can I do an MBA after any degree?
Most institutes accept graduates of any stream with the minimum marks they set. A few programmes ask for a related background.
Can I apply while in the final year?
Many institutes allow it with conditional admission, subject to passing with the required marks. Check each notice.
Can I switch specialisations?
This depends on the institute. Many fix the specialisation in the second year or allow limited changes.
Does Padhaidekho guarantee admission?
