Start with three honest lists
- What you are good at: subjects, skills, and what people ask your help for
- What you enjoy doing even when it is hard
- What your family can support: budget, location and time
Then check the practical filters
- Which subjects you studied and which courses they allow
- Which entrance exams each course needs and when
- How long the course is and whether postgraduation is expected
- What kinds of work graduates actually do
Talk to people, not just websites
Speak to students and professionals in the field, and visit colleges if you can. Ask what the work is really like, not only what it pays.
Keep options open until the last moment
Prepare for more than one pathway where the exams allow it, and keep your documents ready. A good counsellor helps you rank options by fit and realism, not by popularity.
