Start from official sources
Genuine scholarships are announced by government portals, universities, banks and well-known foundations, each with a written eligibility and a free application. If someone asks you to pay to "unlock" a scholarship, treat it as a warning sign.
Questions to ask about any scholarship
- Who funds it, and where is it announced officially?
- What are the eligibility, documents and last date?
- Is there any fee? (A genuine application is usually free.)
- Is it renewed each year, and on what conditions?
Education loans
- Compare interest rate, processing fee, moratorium period and repayment terms in writing
- Ask what happens if the course or college changes
- Check whether the college or course is eligible under the lender's list
- Never sign blank forms or share OTPs
Plan the total cost first
Before choice filling, estimate the full cost of the course including hostel, books and travel, so that scholarships and loans are a plan, not a last-minute rescue.
